Mrs. Felicia Washington Ricks was born on June 1, 1964 in Manhattan, New York, to the late Mary W. Middleton. She departed this earthly world to be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 9, 2018.
Felicia attended the public schools of Orangeburg County, and graduated from Holly Hill Roberts High School in 1982. Felicia attended Claflin College for a year but left after a year to enter the working world.
On March 4, 1989, Felicia was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Solomon Ricks. This union lasted for twenty-nine years and produced one child, Patrick.
Felicia became a Certified Nursing Assistant, and worked in Obstetrics/Gynecology, as well as Podiatry, for over 20 years until her health began to fail.
At an early age, Felicia was baptized at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the Music Ministry. Later, Felicia became a member of Hickory Grove Christian Church, located in Raleigh, North Carolina; and she became a member of Evans Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where she remained until her death. During her time at both Hickory Grove Christian Church and Evans Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Felicia worked passionately with the Music Ministries. She also was devoted to the youth at both churches, and served as a leader in the Youth Ministries.
Felicia leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband, Solomon, of Creedmoor, North Carolina; one son, Patrick, of Creedmoor, North Carolina; her mother-in-law, Nellie Lucille Ricks; four brothers-in-law, Earl Ricks, Jr., Donald Ricks, Darrell Ricks, and Cecil Ricks; one sister, Nakeyra (James) Harris; one “sister”, Gail Kitt; two “sisters-in-law”, Toni (Tyrone) Jones, and Racheal (Willie) Watson; nieces, Avyianse and Destiny Harris, and Makayla Ricks; nephews, James (Tre) Harris, III, Jamaree Skinner, Treston Watson, Addison Jones, Kylon Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
