Detroy C. McCray

DeTroy Cameron McCray son of Patsy McCray and Mack Hamilton was born on October 7, 1975 at MUSC Hospital. He departed this life on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

DeTroy grew up and attended the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. He graduated from Cross High School with the class of 1993. DeTroy was a star athlete in football, track, and basketball where he wore the #30 on his jersey. He was also a member of The Church of Redeemer Episcopal.  

DeTroy resided in Portsmouth, VA. He served his country in the Navy on the USS Emory S Land. During his tenure he played basketball in the Navy with the Running Rebels. As a veteran DeTroy helped other veterans through the organization, The Mission Continues, where he stood as the Hampton Roads 1st Platoon Leader. He also coached the Norfolk Clovers peewee football team.

DeTroy leaves to cherish: his loving parents, Patsy McCray and Mack Hamilton both of Pineville, SC; his loving siblings, Devonna McCray and Darren McCray both of Charlotte, NC, Sureka Wigfall and Yashica Wigfall both of Pineville, SC, and Travis Johnson (Lavonia) of Moncks Corner, SC; last but not least his best friend, Paul Vincent; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
