Annie Richards Obituary

Annie ‘Dolly’ Richards was born on January 30, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Samuel & Alean Green. She fell asleep in death on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Ann was a 1963 graduate of Roberts High School. Later that year, Ann married her loving husband, Marion, on October 19, 1963. This union lasted 55 years. Ann worked various jobs throughout her life. She was known for her wall papering skills, being a seamstress for her niece's wedding day, and a caregiver. For over 25 years she was a bus driver for Orangeburg County Consolidated School District #3. Ann was famously known as “The Cake Lady” for all the delicious cakes that came out of her kitchen.

Ann Richards developed an appreciation of spiritual things at an early age. In 1960, at the age of 12 she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Ann “Dolly” was preceded in death by four brothers, Levi Green, John Green, Lawrence Green, and Joseph Green and one sister, Hannah Glover. Of her five children, one son, Michael, preceded her in death.

Her memories will be cherished by her dear husband, Marion Richards; four children, Bryan (Leola) Richards, of Holly Hill, SC, Timothy Richards of Eutawville, SC, Valerie Richards of Eutawville, SC and Samuel Richards of Eutawville, SC; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Richards of Eutawville, SC; five grandchildren, Dondre Council of Elloree, SC, Brianna Richards of Richmond, VA, Raekwon Richards of the home, Alapia Richards of the home, and Armaurion Richards Void of Eutawville, SC who were the joys of her life. Ann has two surviving sisters, Mary Davis of Orangeburg, SC and Eula Washington of Eutawville, SC; one surviving brother, Samuel (Polly) Green of Eutawville, SC; special adopted siblings Robert and Muriel Smith of Eutawville, SC. Ann also leaves to cherish her memories five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; and special friends, Mary Jones Glover and Julia Johnson. Dolly also had just too numerous to mention a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends that she loved dearly.
