I heard the call, “Come follow”'
That was all Earth’s joy grew dim, my soul went after Him,
I rose and followed…That was all
Who would not follow, if you heard His Call?
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith”
II Timothy 4:7
The Lord called our beloved Gloria Brown-Scott home on Saturday, February 17, 2024, after her second battle with a stroke.
Gloria Brown was born to William Brown and Corabelle Doctor-Brown in New York, NY on June 10, 1974. Gloria attended elementary school at Manhattan Country School and Graduated high school from Mother Cabrini High School in 1992. She started her career at Lincoln Center doing payroll for many years. Gloria later changed career paths and became a Corrections Officer for the NYC Dept. of Corrections for 12 years.
Gloria was loved and respected by many. She was a devoted daughter and loving sister. Gloria was loyal to her family as a wife and mother of 3 beautiful children. They knew that they could always depend on her for anything. Cora (Mommy) made sure all of her children knew that God’s Word is the foundation for their lives. She truly believed in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Gloria’s strength came from the Lord and she never stopped believing, trusting, and praising God!
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Corabelle Doctor-Brown; father, William Brown; two sisters, Joy & R. Denise; husband, Albert Scott Jr.; three children, Kamhali, Xavier, and Jaequre; step-daughters, Vernice, Varonica, and Shanai; mother-In-law, Florence; sister-In-law, Jennifer (Carl); brother-In-law, Arnold (Cresentia); four aunts, Esther, Alberta, Betty and Dorothy; three uncles, Ernest, Perry, and Frankie; sister-in-law, Renee; nieces and nephews, Shantelle, Ashley, Jamil, MaKenna, Ezekiel, and Khamiya; and a host of cousins, god brothers/sisters, family, and friends.
